Abstract
In 1992, the Comparative Research Programme on Poverty (CROP) was born with the goal of providing data to academics, NGOs, IGOs, and national policy-makers focused on development and poverty reduction (http://www.crop.org/). After a 2003 CROP workshop in Greece, Poverty and Social Deprivation in the Mediterranean: Trends, Policies and Welfare Prospects in the New Millennium was published (2006).
