The book, Gli Uomini, il Tempo e la Polvere, Fonti e Documenti per una storia demografica italiana (secc. XV-XXI) is a recent publication in Italy about historical demography. Giovanna Da Molin has now affirmed herself as one of the leading scholars on Italian demography. She has published a great deal on the subject, both in her own capacity and in collaboration with other scholars. This book is being published in collaboration with Angela Carbone and the authors seek to reconstruct the history of documentation that can be used for the study of demographic growth in Italy throughout the ages. However, they go beyond giving us just a history of documentation. They also give us interesting demographic information, both in terms of statistics as well as historical accounts, in support of the demographic growth in Italy from medieval to modern times. Moreover, they corroborate their findings with statistical information and ethnographic analysis.
